Bobbi Brown Smoldering Eye Palette (Holiday 2010 LE Collection)

On a recent trip to the local CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet), a display of Bobbi Brown items caught my eye.  I've long heard the wonders of her creamy concealer, but what mostly drew my eye was the Smoldering Eye Palette.

This palette was limited edition in the Holiday 2010 collection, hence the heavily discounted price at the CCO.  I'm a sucker for purple-y shades, so it comes as no surprise that this one called out to me.

The first shade on the far left, Ivory, is a nice, standard highlight shade.  It's good under the brow, and because I'm so fair, I can bring it down all the way to the crease as a general base.  The next shade, Heather Lilac Metallic shadow, is a really pretty eyelid color.  It's not really glittery... just sort of shimmery.  It seems like a pretty universal color, but you girls with cooler tones will probably enjoy it more.  The third shade, Charcoal, is a standard black matte shade.  I like it because it's not crazy dark or scary.  It blends well and doesn't fall down my face.  The last color is an eye paint in the color Port.  Dry, it's a beautiful deep shade the color of port wine.  Wet, it's a rich burgundy with shimmer.  I admit - I haven't worn this color yet, but I do have plans to try it out!

I swatched them backwards from the order in the palette, and Port is shown dry, not wet, but you can see how beautiful these shades are.  Originally, this palette was $45, which is not a price I would pay for four colors, but I paid less than $17... a much more "palatable" price tag!

When I do an eye look using all four of these colors, I will post a pic here and to my Instagram.  They're gorgeous colors in great formulations.  Ivory and Charcoal are permanent Bobbi Brown colors, apparently, but Port and Heather Lilac Metallic are unique to this palette.  They're definitely beautiful, rich, creamy shades, and with Fall around the corner, these types of colors are sure to be in regular rotation!

Do any of you have this palette?  What kinds of eye looks would you create with these colors?

    1. Yeah, I might play with some looks this weekend. I've done a day look with it a few times, but haven't done a night look, and that's what I think would work really well for it!
