Perfume Review! Lovestruck by Vera Wang

A while back, I had a pretty good rewards certificate from Ulta, and I redeemed it for Vera Wang's Princess.  I like that perfume because it isn't overly floral but is still very feminine.  It has a crisp warmth to it.  I can't describe it very well, but I feel feminine in it, mature but not old-ladyish.  I feel like a lot of floral scents smell too old-lady, and fruity scents smell too young.  I like the subtle spiciness of Princess.  The bottle is super pretty too!  However, it's in the general area of what I was looking for... but wasn't quite right.

I was thinking about what perfume to wear on our wedding day, which is fast approaching, and I kept hearing really good things about Lovestruck.  I tried out a bunch of Vera Wang scents in my local Ulta (which has serious trouble keeping items in stock), and I remembered liking them all a lot.  They're all feminine and sexy, not overly floral or sweet.  Sort of a deep sweet and spicy.

Anyway, I kept hearing about this perfume, so I wanted to give it a shot.  I didn't want to buy a full 1 ounce bottle, only to find out it wasn't the right scent for me, so I decided to try the rollerball version.  Yes, this is definitely the perfume for me.  After wearing the perfume for a couple of weeks, I decided that this is the scent for the big day, so I got the 1 ounce bottle to wear for every day, and I'm saving the rollerball for the wedding and honeymoon.

I'm keeping it in my little white purse on the big day for quick touchups, and then taking it on the honeymoon.  I had a perfume bottle open and spill all over my stuff before, so I've learned to be very careful when traveling.  The rollerball perfumes are a great way to travel with confidence and still smell great.

Looking forward to smelling my best on the big day!

  1. I absolutely LOVE this scent. I didn't realize it came in a cute small roller ball.

Just one thing I had to mention. One tip I learned when a memorable event is coming up (i.e. a wedding) is to wear the scent when you are doing something to prepare for that event. Things like shopping for flowers, checking out bakery's, dresses fittings, dress rehearsal, and so on. Then after the big event only wear the perfume on anniversaries and such. They say to do this so that when you smell the perfume or put it on that the memories will come flooding back of your preparation and big day. Just thought it would be something interesting to mention.

    1. I got my rollerball at Sephora. I like that I can carry it in my purse for touch-ups and it travels so easily and safely - no risk of spilling all over my other things.

I've been wearing it whenever we travel for wedding planning! I love that it's always going to remind me of the big day. :-) That's a really good idea.
