NYX La Amoureux mascara

In last month's Beauty Army kit, I was excited to see the La Amoureux mascara from NYX Cosmetics!  I love so many of their products, but I don't think I've ever tried their mascaras.  So, when this popped up as one of my options, I jumped at the chance to try it out!

This mascara is full size, and in the color black.

The wand is pretty standard, slightly bent, and the bristles are pretty densely packed and not that weird plastic material.  Sorry my picture isn't the best quality, but hopefully you get the idea!  Anyway, the formula is pretty soft.  It removes fairly easily with makeup remover, and does not flake off or make my eyelashes feel dry or brittle.

In my experience, the NYX La Amoureux mascara is more on the "natural" looking side.  My lashes don't look crazy thick and full - more soft and natural.  I think the lengthening is a little more noticeable than any volumizing.  I don't find that's a really wet formula - it's sort of more on the dry side.  I took pictures with my phone so you can get an idea how it looks.

Look ma!  You can actually see my lashes!

The thing I like best about this mascara is the lack of clumping.  Because it goes on so much more naturally than some other mascaras (no tubes, no weird applicator), it goes on smoothly and doesn't clump or make your lashes look weird and spider-y.  For dramatic crazy-thick lashes, NYX La Amoureux might not be what you're looking for.  But for a natural, refreshing look with lengthened, darkened lashes, this is a great option for you!  It applies soft and easy, removes with makeup remover without putting up a fuss, doesn't flake all over your cheeks, and lengthens lashes to make them a little more bat-worthy.  It's great for an easy, no-fuss look that lasts all day.  Every girl should have that in her armory.

  1. I find bent brushes are easier to use as they can reach more of your eyelashes! The end result looks great aswell :) xo

    1. Very true! The brush makes all the difference in reaching those harder to reach lashes.
